After an impressive 35 years since their debut single, 'Dignity,' and boasting millions of record sales, Deacon Blue is ready to dust off their cherished vinyl collection. The legendary band is thrilled to announce their upcoming tour in Australia and New Zealand, scheduled for November and December 2023.
Known for their captivating live performances, Deacon Blue is gearing up for an extraordinary musical journey like never before. They plan to electrify audiences with a raucous rendition of their chart-topping hits, while also treating fans to an intimate acoustic section during the show.
Lead vocalist and songwriter, Ricky Ross, eagerly anticipates this celebration of Deacon Blue's dedicated and passionate fans. From the South Coast to the Uplands, Ross aims to unleash the Caledonian gospel, leaving a resounding impact on concertgoers. "We've decided to present a Greatest Hits show with a twist," Ross reveals. "While we'll certainly play all the beloved classics, we also want to delve into our songs acoustically. We're counting down the days until we return to Australia and New Zealand—two incredible countries that we've always cherished."
The tour will kick off in Perth before the band moves on to captivate audiences in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane in Australia. Following this exciting run, Deacon Blue will head to New Zealand, performing in Auckland and Christchurch—the first-ever South Island appearance for the band.
Ricky Ross, alongside co-vocalist Lorraine McIntosh, Dougie Vipond on drums, Jim Prime on keyboards, Gregor Philp on guitar, and Lewis Gordon on bass, will infuse new energy into well-loved classics such as 'Dignity,' 'Loaded,' 'Wages Day,' 'Real Gone Kid,' 'I'll Never Fall In Love Again,' 'Your Swaying Arms,' 'Twist & Shout,' 'Your Town,' 'The Hipsters,' and 'City Of Love,' among many others.
